Scarlett Johnson, a parent advocate and member of the controversial group Moms for Liberty, expressed her views via Twitter regarding a recent incident of vandalism. Johnson compared the act to Mao's Red Guards, drawing attention to the incident involving the vandalizing of a Walmart heiress' yacht in Ibiza.
"Mao's young Red Guard eventually targeted CCP loyalists of the highest order," Johnson said in the July 17 tweet. "They were useful idiots until they weren't. The fate of the radical Red Guard, when their usefulness was complete, was the same as all the rest...these activists may soon learn that a successful revolution will not end well for them either."
The yacht of Nancy Walton, the Walmart heiress who has an estimated net worth of $7.77 billion, became the target of vandalism by the environmental activist group, Futuro Vegetal; a recent Marca report said. Docked in Ibiza, the yacht was subjected to an act of protest, as the group sprayed red and black paint all over it to express their disapproval of the owner's lifestyle and to draw attention to the ongoing climate issues in the world.
After the act of vandalism, the activist group proudly posed for photos in front of the spray paint-covered yacht, holding signs that read "You Consume, Others Suffer," a New York Post article said. Futuro Vegetal, in collaboration with the environmental activist organization Extinction Rebellion Ibiza, initiated the protests targeting yachts and private jets due to concerns over emissions. The groups aim to raise awareness about the environmental impact of lavish lifestyles, the effect on the climate, and the need for greater accountability in reducing carbon emissions. Two members of the group were arrested but reportedly released the following day.
"Eco activists vandalize Walmart Heiress $315 million yacht, covering it in red and black paint in Ibiza," internet personality Oli London tweeted on July 16. "The owner of the yacht, Nancy Walton Laurie has an estimated net worth of $7.7 billion and is heir to the Walmart fortune. The eco activists targeted the yacht while holding signs ‘You Consume Others Suffer'."
Twitter user Dr.Vedika also responded to the vandalism.
"So that paint will go in water," Vedika tweeted. "The staff will clean it using detergent/ chemicals that will go in water too. Genius eco activists of all times!"
