FOIA Request to Town of Belgium Regarding Same Day Registered Voters for 2024 Election on November 7, 2024.
At Ozaukee County News, we are committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs. As part of our ongoing effort to hold public institutions accountable and provide transparency to the public, we have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Town of Belgium.
In our request, we asked for a list of new registrations voters that registered to vote on November 5, 2024. This information is crucial in understanding voter turnout and participation in the most recent election.
As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, access to such public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.
