Employment Opportunity - DPW Crewperson
This is a split-time skilled position in the Department of Public Works, Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department. Fifty percent of the time spent working for the Streets Division and fifty percent of the time working for the Forestry Division. This position is for responsible for maintenance of City streets and rights-of-way in a safe and efficient manner while performing duties ranging from laboring activities, extended physical exertion to semi-skilled and skilled tasks requiring manipulative skills. The preventive care, pruning and removal of public trees. Work is often considered safety sensitive in nature, which requires knowledge of tree pruning and removal techniques. Other duties include planting new trees, worksite planning, record keeping; utilizing proper safeguards for subordinates and the public; proper operation and care of assigned equipment; operates trucks to plow snow and spread de-icing agents during City snow removal operations; and assists Parks staff as needed.
