MATC and Concordia University announce new four-year degree partnership

17

Concordia University Wisconsin issued the following announcement on Nov. 9

After earning an MATC associate degree, students become eligible for a CUW scholarship to continue their education and work toward a bachelor’s degree. The “Direct to CUW Scholarship” is available to all MATC graduates who have not attended another four-year institution, regardless of the year of graduation from MATC. The Scholarship includes $150 towards adult accelerated bachelor degree courses and waives the application fee.

For employees of MATC, CUW offers a “Business Community Partnership Scholarship” that includes discounts in accelerated undergraduate and graduate courses and waives the application fee.

This partnership is made possible through MATC’s Center for University Partnerships and Studies.

“We are excited to partner with Concordia University to continue to strengthen opportunities for our students and staff to earn a bachelor’s degree,” says MATC President Vicki J. Martin, Ph.D. “Our students will have another convenient way to continue their education at Concordia,  whose commitment to access and opportunity for lifelong learners aligns well with our mission.”

In addition to providing the scholarship awards, CUW will have representatives on MATC’s Downtown Milwaukee Campus to assist with in-person academic advising. Dedicated online assistance is also available. Other unique benefits to the partnership include:

  • Flexibility—Choose between online learning and virtual evening classes
  • Ease—Transfer up to 84 credits for accelerated bachelor’s programs
  • Support—Know your professors and classmates because of small class sizes
  • Access—Learn more about robust financial aid packages, military discounts, and additional scholarship opportunities
“MATC and Concordia have a deep and successful history together,” says Dr. William Cario, interim president of Concordia University. “We’re pleased to formalize a transfer program that makes it even easier for MATC students to further pursue their passions and achieve their personal goals in a way that fits into their busy lives.”
